To make it easier for our IBM friends, these sets come "Zipped" which is a standard IBM compression format.
Macintosh users, current versions of Aladin's Stuffit should decompress it without any problems,
or you can download a freeware utility from Toucows

INSTRUCTIONS for Mac OS 8.5 or above:
To create random desktop pictures (each restart will come up with a picture at random):
Put your favorite desktop images in a folder on your Hard Drive
You can change the content of the random folder by simply dragging images in or out of it

*Window's 95 users see the note below on converting the files to bitmaps
*** Windows 95 users can follow the same instructions, but will need to convert the JPEG files to BMP with a program like one available freewarefiles.com before setting it as your background image
